  22. [deuce] 2-0 *super close 1R
- Umehara won Janken but chose Inland Jungle stage instead of side! Xian chose 2P side.
- Umehara went back to the corner at the beginning to force Xian not to jump freely (or to kill time so Gen's Ultra doesn't come out early or twice).
- WOW WHAT A MATCH THIS'S ANOTHER MUST SEE.
- The point is Xian played very well and showed that he's definitely a true top player. He always found a way to approach and apply pressure. He had no obvious execution error. Gen is also a problem since Ryu can't get in with footsie due to Gen's anti-FADC move (that hundredfingers).
- This's also another proof that SF4 isn't a fair game because a character like Gen can connect Ultra in many ways and without the need of meter or FADC. Umehara only used Ultra once in a round in the entire 22 games, because he spent meters for EX Hado to break FADCs. Characters with less limitation on Ultra can do extra damage over the rest.
- Karipaku cried after Umehara's SRK won him a very close round.

3. Fuudo (Fei U1) 3-7 Xiao Hai (Cam U1)
  1. 0-2 *very close 1R (XH did well staying alive)
  2. 0-2 *nice Gyro caught backdash in 2R

  8. 0-2
  9. 2-0 *close 2R (Fuudo missed Ultra)
  10. 0-2 *nice backstep in 1R from XH (avoid EX command grab)
- Fuudo sat at 3rd of the table after this match.
- After 3rd match, there's announcement that Umehara vs. Sako and Sako vs. Fuudo will switch place to maintain the hype.

    4. Bon-chan (Sag U2) 2-7 Poongko (Set U1)
    1. 0-2 *nice Ultra reaction that caught sweep from Poongko
    2. 0-2
    3. 2-1
    4. 1-2

    8. 0-2 *nice Ultra in 2R by Poongko (even Bon shook his head)
    9. 1-2 *nice SPD out off block stun in 2R *epic last shot by Poongko
    - This match is a good action movie that is full of explosions.
    - Poongko played well and connected so many Ultra in various ways.

      10. 2-0
      11. 2-1 *close  1R
      12. 2-0 *close  2R
      - Fuudo chose stage. Sako chose 1P side.
      - After this match, Umehara must win Sako +6 GD (or more) to win this tournament.
      - Fuudo is now guaranteed 3rd place since it's impossible for Xiao Hai to win +10 GD.
      - Umehara is now guaranteed at least 2nd place.

      6.  Xian (Gen U1) 10-12 Xiao Hai (Yun U1)
      1. 2-1
      2. 0-2

      21. [deuce] 0-2 *intense 2R
      22. [deuce] 1-2 *EXCITING 3R
      - When Xiao Hai picked red Yun, Kazunoko said that's my color! But it looks like he's stronger than me! ^^;
      - Xiao Hai won this even he dropped several Genei Jin (probably more than 5 times).

      7.  Sako (Ibu U2) 7-3 Umehara (Ryu U1)
      1. 2-1
      2. 0-2

      - Pre-match interview: Sako: I became a pro because of Umehara, [and that's also the reason I must win him].
      - Umehara chose Inland Jungle instead of side again! Sako chose 1P.
      - Umehara, or should we say Ryu, still had no clear answer to Sako Ibuki. Umehara went to the corner in the 2nd half to avoid jump attack after Sako gained the momentum but Ibuki has more ways to approach and better poking tools than Gen.
